Abstract:
One of the major challenges facing today's business firms is the successful integration of rapidly changing computer technology. New technology can be introduced in a random way by various units in the firm or in a planned environment with appropriate organization structures. Management must understand the direction in which the new technology is moving as well as the organizational variables that must be considered. Failure by management to select an approach will, by default, mean that organizational changes will be dictated by the technology.
