Abstract:
The need for increased flexibility in the work-life pattern of employees has been established by a number of authorities. The "flextime" concept is one alternative which provides this desired flexibility. The feasibility of "flextime systems", within the United States business environment, was substantiated by research into the literature and analysis of a survey conducted among companies which have used "flextime". While "flextime" does not provide flexibility in the total work-life pattern, within a limited time span it has proven to be a viable step toward the satisfaction of this need.
