Description
This document details the Quadridecennial Convocation that took place on Wednesday April 19, 1967 at 2:00P.M> at the University of Bridgeport gymnasium. The program led by Dr. James H. Halsey, Chancellor of the University, commemorated the 40th Anniversary of the institution. An honorary Doctor of Laws degree was conferred to the Honorable John N. Dempsey, Governor of the State of Connecticut. Governor Dempsey then gave a talk titled "The Role of Higher Education in Connecticut." On Monday May 1, 1967 a Quadridecennial Reception and Banquet sponsored by the Board of Associates was held at the student center. Dr. Samuel B. Gould Chancellor of the State University of New York gave an address titled "Higher Education for the Twenty-first Century."
