Abstract

The goal is to implement an Autonomous Drone for surveillance and monitoring using Robot operating system (ROS) where, the drone is programmed to fly in a specific path at a fixed interval. The system is powered by the flight controller, with sensors like thermal sensor, moisture sensor, humidity sensor, camera and GPS to collect the data from the surroundings and ultimately giving information about the enviromnent. In this, the robot operating system (ROS) acts as master node and all the other sensors on the drone acts as slave nodes, where ROS controls and communicates with the sensors bringing on a lot of data related to humidity, heat, moisture and other data relatively. Where, with just with few lines of code, it can communicate with the surroundings by reading, storing and manipulating. The drone technology enables the analyzing of crop field situations and also deals with Field monitoring, soil testing, and weather anomalies, resulting future insights about the enviromnent, which will eventually assists us deciding what measures or counter-measures to take.
