This is Vol. 1 & Issue 1 of a student magazine that was commenced in the Spring of 1948. The editorial and advisory staff includes Mary A. McGuire, David R. Minard, Rose Lefsetz Beniash, Ray Clark, Eugene H. Falk, Charles B. Goulding, John Hancock, Wilma Hoagland, Ernest Holly, Wendell Kellogg, Thomas McCabe, Milton Millhauser, Stephen J. Moritz, Rosa Racamato, Anita P. Riess, Helen M. Scurr, and Eugene Vredenburgh.
"The publication of HELICON inaugurates another field of artistic endeavor for the University of Bridgeport. I am glad to say to the faculty, students, and friends of the University of Bridgeport, "A job well done."
