Abstract

Revenue prediction models for the following hospital departments: Operating Room, Laboratory, X-Ray, Electrocardiography, utilizing stepwise multipal linear regression analysis. The models cummulative error for an eleven month period ranged from 07. to 3.6%. However, when projected values of the independent variables were input to the models, the cummulative errors ranged from 0.3% to 14.1%. Also, the relative accuracy of revenue prediction on a monthly basis declined. Therefore, research should be directed towards the prediction of the independent variables in the revenue models as well as other applications of the methodology used.
