Abstract
This paper examines the relationship of aluminum toxicity and modern medicine through a review of the current literature using PubMed and Cochrane Library databases. This review describes the effects of both acute and chronic aluminum toxicity in addition to the general pharmacokinetics of aluminum. The question of Alzheimer’s disease, autism spectrum disorder and neurodegenerative conditions and their relation to aluminum is explored as well as the implication of aluminum toxicity on the future of medicine.
