Description
This booklet was for an opera production by Opera New England, under the auspices of the College of Fine Arts of the University of Bridgeport which presented the opera "Hansel and Gretel" which took place on Sunday December 3, 1978 at 2:30 pm. This production by Opera New England was in part made possible by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Massachusetts Council on the Arts and Humanities, and the New Hampshire Commission on the Arts. This is the opera based on the work by Engelbert Humperdinck (1854-1921). It was performed at the Mertens Theater. Sarah Caldwell of the Opera Company of Boston was the artistic director.
