Abstract

The University of Bridgeport consistently works to improve the lives of students, faculty and staff. Recent examples include becoming an Exercise is Medicine On Campus (EIM-OC) University and participating in the 2025 Walking Challenge. In addition to exercise as a factor related to better health, sleep is very important as well. Poor sleep is a risk factor for depression and other mental disorders, coronary heart disease, and/or high blood pressure (1). This poster will combine the results from multiple studies and current sleep advocacy programs to propose that even modest sleep interventions offered on an individual level and targeted at individuals with sleep difficulties could have positive effects for both University of Bridgeport students and faculty and staff, continuing the University’s work to improve the lives of those on its campus.
