Description
Another busy month for the University resulted in 8 issues of the UB Bulletin and 2 issues of Professional Activities being published, from 11/1 to 11/29. One of the key highlights was the 2-day visit of R. Buckminster Fuller's visit to the UB Campus. Although it took place in October, the 11/1 issues details his address on 10/30 at the Merten's Theater titled "Man's Alternatives" to an overflow audience. The next day he gave two more address on different topics to arts and sciences students "Can a Futurist Keep Ahead of the Present?" and to science and nursing students titled "The Development of Creativity in the Post-Industrial Society." The University agreed to join the University Film Study Center, a consortium of 19 colleges and universities in New England and also conducted an International Film Festival 11/1 to 11/8. The 1st Madrigal Festival was held on 11/18 featuring 5 high schools in the region at Recital Hall in the Bernhard Center. I final high point was the beginning of discussions of UB's land use in the area and how to plan for it in a Board of Associates luncheon on 11/15.
