Abstract
Objective: This literature review evaluates the efficacy of specific agents used within specific naturopathic modalities as they apply to improving positive outcomes of surgical wound healing. Design: The studies reviewed were double blind randomized controlled trials, literature review and clinical trials that applied directly to wound healing. Conclusion: Although Naturopathic Medicine has a history of clinically significant outcomes and has and been proven to be in huge public favor, the conventional medical establishment has been slow to integrate naturopathic modalities into wound healing protocols. This literature review has established that there are studies available that do conclude, in fact, that many agents used in naturopathic modalities that are significant to increasing positive outcomes in wound healing.
