Achieving an In-Demand Career with a Certificate in Cybersecurity at UB

Abstract

Across the country, there is an increasing need for cyber security specialists. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the need for information security analysts is expected to grow by 32% over the next eight years. Moreover, this professional pathway leads to a higher salary — in May 2022, information security analysts earned an average pay of over $112,000. The University of Bridgeport received two Tech Talent Accelerator grants, totaling $70,000, to offer a 12-week Cyber Security Certificate program in the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024. After course completion, students will develop the in-demand skills they need to secure entry-level, technology enabled jobs in the cyber security field.
