Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to compare the Natural 5 alpha Reductase inhibitors with the Synesthetic drugs like Minoxidil and Finasteride, which are used in treating Male Pattern Baldness [MPB]. This is a hair loss disorder which leads to baldness. When the androgen like testosterone in the body start to circulate after puberty, the presence of the enzyme 5 alpha Reductase initiates the conversion of Testosterone to Dihydrotestostron [DHT][ 1]. DHT is site specific and has high affinity for androgen receptors especially, to the once found near to the hair follicles. Using the advanced software version ADMET Predictor 6.2 developed by Simulation plus-Inc. a drug comparison is carried out between Minoxidil, Finasteride and the chemical constituents found in Saw palmetto berries-Beta Sitosterol taking the referral drugs as testosterone and DHT.
