Unclear when exactly the mayoral proclamation was given, however it is regarding the University of Bridgeport's win in the 1971 Knute Rockne bowl which was won by UB over Hampden-Sydney College (VA) 17-12. Mayor Panuzio of Bridgeport issued the proclamation.
