Abstract
The use of trade credit has developed because of resulting benefits for both the firm issuing and the firm accepting trade credit. The benefits are that trade credit represents free financing of inventories for the retailer and is therefore an effective sales tool for use by suppliers of merchandise to the retail business. This paper determines if the extended terms of sale offered through a liberal trade credit policy will actually generate greater sales volume of home appliance products to the retailer.
