Abstract
In the past two decades multinational corporations have had their U.S. tax structure on international operations challenged by Congressmen and various labor groups. Tax proposals have been presented to Congress that would restrict or possibly eliminate the foreign tax credit from U.S. taxation. Many believe elimination of the foreign tax credit will enhance our domestic economic position because it will curtail foreign investment. This paper develops the plight of the foreign tax credit and how it effects our economy.
