Abstract
The investment decision may be considered to be the process of choosing the optimum branch, or branches, of decison tree. Each branch represents a stream of cash resources which can be expected by the selection of a path. The ultimate value of the branch depends upon the opportunities made possible by its selection, therefore one of forecasting the opportunities which can be expected to develop at interim budget points prior to the projection horizon.
