This paper is designed as a practical tool in the accounting field, and is concerned with the manner in which Standard Costs are used or can be used to control manufacturing operations or processes. An emphasis has been placed on the mechanics of Standard Cost and its analytical impact on executive reporting for control purposes, It does not attempt to outline complete company budgetary operations.
