Abstract

The subject of Federal Reserve Membership attrition is only now becoming an important element in today’s economy. Both the Federal Reserve and the banks are becoming aware of its importance to monetary and bank control. The subject of this Thesis is to try to comprehend the reasoning behind the member banks decisions to withdraw from the Federal Reserve System, as well as, to understand the multiple problems existing in the final bank management decision processes which causes this attrition.
