Abstract

Electric vehicles (EVs) offer a promising pathway to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and achieve sustainable transportation. However, challenges such as limited driving range, high battery cost, and thermal performance constraints continue to hinder their widespread adoption as dependable daily transportation. This work addresses these challenges by proposing a thermal-aware hybrid dual-battery system that combines air-cooled and liquid-cooled battery packs to improve energy efficiency, extend driving range, and enhance reliability under varying operating conditions. By intelligently managing power distribution and thermal behavior, the proposed system reduces performance degradation and supports consistent operation in real-world scenarios.
