Description

A very busy month for the UB Bulletin with twelve issue produced from May 2, to May 31. Famed artist Roy Lichtenstein was named the Albert Dorne Visiting Professor and planned for visits to the campus on May3, 9, and 10. He had a discussion of art on May 3 in the Social Room of the student Center and met with students and worked with faculty throughout his time on campus. Morris Carnovsky read Shakespeare for the 1st Annual Carlson Festival on May 7. Euell Gibbons, famed naturalist, author and wild foods expert spoke to students on May 8 in Dana Hall. It was announced by President Manning on May 9 that the University of Bridgeport established an extension branch in Puerto Rico. Gabriela Roepke, playwright, director and producer at Julliard visited on May 18. Finally seven faculty members were named "Outstanding Educators of America."
