Abstract

The healthcare business, which is one of the largest and most profitable in the country, is inextricably linked to the US economy. With the increased frequency of chronic illnesses such as diabetes, the healthcare business has become even more critical to the economy's support. Diabetes is one of the most expensive chronic diseases in the United States, impacting millions of people and costing billions of dollars in direct and indirect costs each year. As a result, the economic and healthcare implications of diabetes are of great concern. This study will look at how the healthcare business, especially the impact of diabetes, affects the American economy. Diabetes is a chronic condition that affects millions of people and contributes significantly to healthcare expenditures in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), around 34.2 million Americans, or 10.5% of the population, have diabetes, and the overall cost of diabetes in the United States in 2017 was predicted to be $327 billion. Diabetes, in particular, has a considerable influence on the US economy due to high treatment costs, increased absenteeism and lower productivity, and increased healthcare expenditures for employers.
