Description
Seven issues of the UB Bulletin were published in November from 11/5 to 11/26. President Leland Miles announced that the winter commencement was reinstated, however moving forward it was indicated that only a spring commencement would be held in subsequent years. this move aligns Ub with other higher education institutions and provides cost savings. The winter commencement will be held on December 22. A distinguished serive award was bestowed on William S. Banks, an associate professor of Theater and Cinema. He is the recipient of the 1974 Speech Association of Connecticut Award for Distinguished Service in Speech and Theatre. The 13th Science Wall of Honor ceremony took place on November 14, installing 17th Century Dutch physicist Christiaan Huygens as the 37th "Immortal of Science" honoree and Dr. Carl B. Boyer, professor of mathematics at Brooklyn college was the featured speaker. The study abraod program announced opportunites to study overseas during winter break in London, Spain and Puerto Rico.
