Abstract

Objective – The purpose of this study is to evaluate the importance of Nagalase and ways to reduce this enzyme. This study looks at the current and past research of Nagalase on different human pathologies including cancers and HIV. Current treatment options are also explored along with new avenues of possible natural treatments. Basic Procedures – The database used for searching was PubMed. Research focused on papers showing Nagalase or α-N-acetyl-galactosaminidase. Gc and MAF articles were also used to explore and understand this technical biological process. Papers were chosen that were published within the last 30 years. Main Findings – Nagalase is a good prognostic tool for cancer and HIV screening. GcMAF therapy is showing promising results in the treatment/cure rate in cancers and HIV patients. Principal Conclusions – GcMAF is fast becoming understood as an important part in the fight against different cancers and HIV. Chondroitin sulfate might be a good way to naturally increase macrophage activity via competently inhibiting Nagalase. Nagalase has been shown to be a better prognostic and diagnostic tool in the monitoring of certain cancers and HIV.
