Description

As a part of the Town-Gown series, Gloria Steinem visited the UB campus to speak on matters relevant to the Women's Liberation Movement and conduct a workshop highlighting issues and concerns relating to the current status of women in American society. Additionally, with Ms. Steinem, Ms. Dorothy Pitman, founder and director of a community-controlled day care center in New York City addressed the need for quality day care for today's modern woman. Ms. Steinem was quoted, "Its revolution, we're talking about, not reform!" The March 11, 1971 Scribe details her visit.
