Abstract
The purpose of this research is to examine the effects of nonurban industrialization trends on mature industrialized cities, and to evaluate present strategies being used by cities to reverse this situation. A brief historical review of early manufacturing growth in New England is undertaken as a foundation to an indepth study of industrial development efforts and strategies of two Connecticut municipalities, Bridgeport and Trumbull. Conclusions are then drawn from the research.
