Abstract
This thesis is directed at the manufacturing company with the traditional data processing activities and its effort to produce information in a more meaningful form and a more timely basis. The alternative of data as a resource using a data base management system is described and developed from those initial critical stages, through the steps to be performed for a reasonable probability of success, and prior to the actual implementation of the application.
