Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases remain a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, necessitating innovative approaches for cardiac tissue regeneration. Biodegradable scaffolds offer a promising solution by providing structural support and a conducive microenvironment for cell growth and tissue formation. In this study, we explore the use of PLA/PCL scaffolds enriched with silk and gelatin composites to enhance the regenerative capacity of cardiac tissue. The scaffolds are fabricated using advanced fabrication techniques, and their efficacy in promoting cell attachment, proliferation, and tissue formation is evaluated in vitro and in vivo. The results demonstrate the potential of these composite scaffolds for improving cardiac tissue regeneration, offering promising prospects for future clinical applications in treating myocardial infarction and heart failure.
