Abstract

Acoustic gunshot detection systems are being used in many nations where gun crime is on the rise, with the aim that their deployment will boost 24/7 surveillance and allow for faster reaction times by police. In criminal cases, data from gunfire detection systems has been utilised in conjunction with eyewitness testimony in addition to real-time surveillance. How successful these systems are in both lab/controlled settings and deployed real-world metropolitan scenarios should be asked because of their potential utility. In order to gain a better understanding of the technology's possibilities and limits, this research conducts an in-depth analysis of its hardware and algorithmic processes. Particular attention is paid to environmental and other mismatch circumstances, as well the validity of validation techniques and their predicted dependability.
